Why youWant an Independent Designer

I strive to draw inspiration from you, your life, your style and most of all your comfort. In the comfort of your home, get a helping hand with budget, visualizing design elements and advice on quality & service from an independent designer. No pressure, no endless shopping....just enjoy the process with careful planning.  Whether you shop the best or enjoy hunting those vintage treasures, let's pull it together brilliantly! Take as long as you want to plan and be prepared to take advantage of sales when you are ready.

Staging for Homesellers & Realtors

Show buyers the home they will want to spend the rest of their lives in not just another white sofa carelessly placed by cheap software. Everyone is doing that, how do you get the edge? You can choose to get a consultation that will advise you on how to best present your listing for sale, choosing a couple of main rooms, and utilizing existing items. If the house is empty, let me fill it with beautiful digitally staged pieces online and get it sold!

Corporate Background

Pamela Johnson is a prominent Austin artist and designer.  began her career as the director of The Gallery at the Driskill Hotel, which focused on exhibitions of Texas artists and crafts people, connecting them with Austin's downtown tourists. In 1983 she relocated and rebranded as owner of West Bank Gallery, a well known gallery and art consultantcy service in Austin, Texas between 1983 and 2001. This gallery focused on featuring Texas artists and was located at 3300 Bee Caves Road, Austin, Texas. This location was extremely successful and combined the traditional on site gallery model with a new on site services model during Austin's expansion into a focal point for Information Technology and related businesses. She wa s also the gallery's best selling artist.  Pamela Johnson expanded her services outside the retail gallery environment by designing and developing the first integrated Dell Customer Experience Tour at Parmer North II in Round Rock, Texas, an architectural and multi media design project including team members Clark Bickley, Peter Kaharl, Michael Dell and others. This tour focused on marketing messaging regarding the capabilities of Dell Computer, then a small enterprise computer manufacturer. This tour launched Dell as a serious contender with IBM, with final numbers for enterprise contract close rates coming in at 86%. Pamela Johnson went on to work on many other Dell facilities particularly focusing on marketing through dynamic visual information. She also was commissioned to create art, and large scale art plans, for the University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, Lamar University, Samsung, Intel, and many of the major headquarter's of Austin's growing IT expansion. Pamela also designed the large scale preservation of artwork for IBM's statewide collection, preservation, and redistribution efforts and was commissioned to add pieces to that collection.

Government Service:

In the early 2000's she was involved in designing important visual information for the Federal government including for the War fighter refractive surgery center at Lackland AFB, projects for the Army Corps of Engineers, Ft. Sam Houston, Dyess AFB, Darnall Army Medical Center and mulitple projects at the Veteran's Administration Flagship Campus Renovation at the Olin E. Teague Veterans Medical center and its associated campuses providing support for the interior design personnel.

  • Major Charitable Contributions and Projects

  • Community Relief & Arts Advocacy: Her charitable reach includes on-the-ground volunteer work for shelter operations with the Austin Area Red Cross during Hurricane Katrinal.

Pamela A. Johnson’s work effectively bridged the gap between Austin’s high-growth corporate sector and its deeply rooted non-profit community, using art as a vehicle for both marketing and social good. A few examples of her community based support:

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas: As a volunteer interiors consultant, Johnson designed the Dell Technologies Suite at the first LEED Platinum Ronald McDonald House worldwide. This project involved full-scale space planning, budgeting, and installation to create a healing environment adjacent to

Dell Children's Medical Center

.

  • Paramount Theatre

: She served as the Season Media Designer for this historic Austin landmark, contributing her visual design skills to their seasonal branding and presence.

  • AIDS Services Austin (ASA) & Project Transitions: Johnson has been a consistent supporter of HIV/AIDS services in Austin, frequently acting as an artwork donor to fundraisers for both AIDS Services Austin and Project Transitions, which provides housing and hospice for those living with HIV.

  • The Contemporary Austin

(formerly Austin Museum of Art): She has been an active participant in their high-profile fundraisers, including serving as an art donor for the "5x7" event at the

    Jones Center

    .

  • Dell Children's Medical Center

: Furthering her commitment to pediatric health, she served as the Silent Auction Chair for the hospital's fundraising team.

  • Pamela A. Johnson’s work effectively bridged the gap between Austin’s high-growth corporate sector and its deeply rooted non-profit community, using art as a vehicle for both marketing and social good

  • Professional Awards and Recognition:

In 2017, Pamela continued her work as Pamela Johnson Design, a full service luxury interior design business for commercial and residential clients. Her ability to design complete projects of any size in photorealistic rendering has put her on the map internationally, winning industry awards in 2003, 2004 for Best Exhibition Designer and 3D designer at the London based media industry awards, Creative Pool. She continues to live and work in Austin, Texas.

       Collections:

Pamela's original works of art have been collected extensively and include major collections of IBM, University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, Dell Technologies, IBM, Velocity Credit Union, Liberty Bank, AT&T, et al.
